Vineyard Cellar Door

Many wineries in the Limestone coast vineyard region warmly welcome guests to their cellar door to sample and purchase their wines. This is a fantastic opportunity to experience an extensive range of wine varieties and styles. Cellar Doors within the limestone coast wineries can be found in Coonawarra, Mount Benson, Mount Gambier, Padthaway, Penola, and Robe.

Tips For Visiting a Cellar Door

·Don’t drink and drive. Pre arrange a designated driver. The driver can still “taste” the wines, but make sure you get home safely by spitting not swallowing!

·You don’t have to be a wine expert to enjoy wine tasting. You will have the opportunity to experience wines that you haven’t sampled before. This region produces a great selection of exciting wines and you are bound to find the experience fun.

·You don’t have to know all the terminology to express your opinion of a wine. Let the management know in your own words what you like/dislike about your experience.

·Whilst the owners certainly appreciate a purchase, you are under no obligation to purchase at the cellar door. But be warned, reasonable prices and an exceptional selection make it hard not to get tempted!

·Feel free to take notes and collect information. Most wineries have flyers and booklets about their vineyard, its history and the wines they produce.

·There are plenty of places to stay in the limestone coast wine region, so if you really want to get the best out of your experience consider spreading your tour over a couple of days.
